In collaboration with Noorlander Organs, Mr. Lobbezoo has been able to realize his dream of building the ideal home organ. The result is an impressive and grand console. Mr. Lobbezoo explains: I made a (pre)selection based on extensive research into the various suppliers on the Internet. Noorlander Organs emerged as the most appealing and suitable for me. The first experience was positive, especially because Noorlander was enthusiast and immediately prepared to cooperate in a joint co-production, in which I was the designer and builder and Noorlander Organs the professional advisor and supplier of components, often assembled in parts, such as the keyboards, the pedal, the stop boxes and the bench. My choice comes first of all from the general impression of the website and the information on it. Once again there is the explicit statement that Orgelmakerij Noorlander also builds custom- made organs and participates in co-productions.
The organ that I designed and built with Noorlander Organs is at the absolute top because it supports all the functions as much as possible and only top components are used. For example, there are the UHT keyboards, but also the thumb pistons imported from Canada as well as the really fantastic OLED stop displays, developed in collaboration with Orgelmakerij Noorlander. A top-end sound system with a professional Onkyo amplifier and 10 Phonar high-end speakers is built in too. The furniture is also absolutely top, made of solid and flawless oak. You can surely say that no cost have been spared to make it a top instrument. This organ can represent 32 different organs. Certainly with professional sound equipment it provides an unprecedented playing and listening experience, which is not approximated by traditional electronic organs. My virtual organ has therefore greatly enriched the playing possibilities in my life.
An interesting part in the building process was the development of the stop displays, of which we had many trial versions made, until we came to the final result. A second very interesting part is that, instead of the “outdated” usual 2-line / 16-character displays, a fully integrated image of all available information is presented on a large screen, for which I developed the software myself.
The overall equipment of the organ is as follows: 5 keyboards, pedal, 240 stops with OLED displays, 3 (Apple) computers, 5 screens, 143 thumb pistons, 16 foot pistons, 10-channel sound system and 10 speakers, dimensions (h /w / d): 240cm * 610cm * 120cm.
Both service and the quality of Noorlander Organs are excellent. I highly recommend Noorlander Organs!
